So you’re ready to ditch your breast forms and get some womanly curves of your own? How exciting!
Herbs and hormones are the two most popular options for male to female breast enhancement. Both methods work, but there are pros and cons to each approach.
Here are some things to think about:
Herbs
Certain herbs contain chemicals (known as phytoestrogens) that mimic the effects of estrogen. These herbs can be used to stimulate breast growth in biological males.
Many people choose to use herbs as a natural alternative to synthetic hormones.
Phytoestrogenic herbs such as fenugreek, wild yam, fennel, red clover, and pueraria mirifica have been safely used for hundreds of years.
Herbs aren’t as powerful as hormones, so they shouldn’t be considered a replacement for transgender HRT (hormone replacement therapy).
However, their effects on the breasts can be dramatic. (Check out some of the results our members have experienced here.)
Hormones
Pharmaceutical hormones are much more potent than herbs and are the best choice for transgender women planning a full transition.
If hormones are started early enough, a transgender woman can totally avoid masculine development during puberty.
Beside breast enlargement, hormones lead to:
- Redistribution of body fat
- Thinner body hair
- Thickening of hair on the head
- Softer skin
- Reduced muscle development
- Changes in body odor and sweat production
- Decreased penis size
- Psychological changes.
The downside of hormones is that they are associated with certain health risks and therefore must be administered by a doctor. (Self-prescribed hormones are very dangerous; please don’t do this.)
Some of the health risks of transgender HRT include:
- Nausea and vomiting
- Mood swings
- Depression
- Weight gain
- Hypothyroidism
- Risk of blood clots/deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
- Increased potential for gall bladder disease
- Increased potential for liver/breast cancer
So which breast enhancement method is best for YOU? It all depends on your goals and where you fall in the feminine spectrum.
Transgender women who are planning a full transition should seek traditional hormone therapy under a doctor’s care.
Herbs are an appropriate alternative for those who are not planning a full transition or who don’t want to use synthetic hormones.

I took this for 7 months and started Tanner stage III with an A cup. Additional psychological changes ( emotions effeminate, which felt better ). Reduced spontaneous erections, and I’m 40 years old.
Saw Palmetto 10 grams daily divided doses ( anti-andogren)
Fenugreek 4 grams, for only 10 days each month, in divided daily doses
Pueraria Mirifica, 8 grams daily divided doses
Levonorgestrel 1.5mg taken twice and substituted the first daily dose of Fenugreek period. (Norlevo available OTA).
Now I’m on Spiro and Estrace and consult an endocrinologist 😀 Much better.
Lots of luck to all of you.

Hi Soph 🙂 Did you really mean to type grams and not milligrams? Those are huge numbers when you convert them to milligrams, 4 grams of Fenugreek being 4000 milligrams. My Fenugreek capsules are only 610mg each. Should I really be taking that many pills?
Also, may I ask you about Pueraria Mirifica? I have heard of this alot but even the largest health food and supplement store near us have never heard of this, and I got black stares from the people at GNC when I asked them. Thanks 🙂

I meant to say, BLANK stares, from the people at GNC, not black, ofcourse. Sorry.

Hi Bobbi,
Yes I meant Grams!
I know the dosages were very high and these are required for any effect on male bodies. Remember that cisgirls already have the correct estrogen/testosterone ratios and males have to try and reverse their ratios.
I think I should add extra info because my herb dosages were dangerous, and cause low blood pressure and blood thinning. In other words you could hemorrhage and die. Certainly this regime would be ill advised to anyone, and certainly fatal if you take any blood thinning drugs e.g Aspirin or Warfarin.
My recommendation would be to ask a friendly doctor to prescribe anti-androgen and enough oestriol – We have to have certain levels of one of the other or we’ll suffer osteoporosis, amongst other maladies. Also, have monthly blood tests for liver function, potassium levels, sex hormones, choloesterol ( ask doctor for more ).
Sophie.

Hi to all. Im a 46yo married bi-guy, have always loved seeing a girly figure so after all this time of waiting i wanted to feel different so i started on fennugreek 2 capsule 3xday,saw palmetto 1 capsule 2xday, aplying progesterone cream on my breast which stores fat if you use it in the same location all the time 2xday arginine which is known as a growth hormone releaser and very important to blood vessles 4 capsules on an empty stomach before going to bed, milk thistle 1 gel cap 2xday, and black cohosh extract 1 capsule. i use capsules or gel cap because they have better absorbtion on my body. Cant make it too noticeable my wife will not approve at all. Started this about 2 months ago and have notice some growth on my breast and my nipples stay errect all the time, the good thing is that i use to workout at the gym so i still have some pectoral development so she really hasnt notice it yet. Remember that herbs are safe if you take them wisely have patience because they do work just give them time best of luck to all!!!!!!
P.S. please take time and do as much reasearch as can and get knowledge that you need to be beautiful.

Hi. I have been taking saw palmetto and fenugreek and incrased soy isoflavonoids trying to decease testosterone levels and also increase estrogren. But research led me to some articles that tell me NOT to do this, because in the male body, to produce estrogen, the body uses TESTOSTERONE to convert to estrogen. The theory is that blocking testosterone takes away the males only way of producing estrogen, without it, there is nothing to convert.

The effectiveness of breast enlargement products whether natural herbs or breast pumps are not likely to effectively change or enhance natural hormonal level to produce larger busts. Mechanical devices such as a breast pump can produce adverse effects such as sagging, hematomas, and a possible tearing of breast connecting tissue. Of course breast implants have been in use for many years and they also have many dangerous side effects such as leakage, deformation of breasts, and cancer to name just a few. If you really want natural looking breast I would recommend eating high protein bars and exercising the pectorals (chest muscles). You don’t need any gym equipment or pay expensive gym membership fees. You can use your own muscle resistance to increase the pectorals, by simply raising your arms to chest level bending your arms so your palms face each other. Next place one palm against the palm and press them together as hard as you can for 15 seconds. When this becomes easy then increase the amount of time. This will work the inner pectoral causing the breast to move closer to your breast bone. The next exercise: lay flat on your back; using a large book (dictionary) extending your arms straight up from the chest and slowly bring your hand over your head until the book touches the floor behind your head. Now reverse this action by raising the book off the floor and bring it back to the beginning position. Repeat this movement at least 10 times rest for 1 minute and perform this exercise again (called a rep) try to do at least three sets once a day. The maximum time spent on the exercise is about 10 minutes. When you can easily perform three reps move to a heavier weight. Did you know a gallon of water weighs about 7 lbs? This exercise will strengthen the upper porting of the pectoral which will help lift your breasts.
