So you’re ready to ditch your breast forms and get some womanly curves of your own? How exciting!
Herbs and hormones are the two most popular options for male to female breast enhancement. Both methods work, but there are pros and cons to each approach.
Here are some things to think about:
Herbs
Certain herbs contain chemicals (known as phytoestrogens) that mimic the effects of estrogen. These herbs can be used to stimulate breast growth in biological males.
Many people choose to use herbs as a natural alternative to synthetic hormones.
Phytoestrogenic herbs such as fenugreek, wild yam, fennel, red clover, and pueraria mirifica have been safely used for hundreds of years.
Herbs aren’t as powerful as hormones, so they shouldn’t be considered a replacement for transgender HRT (hormone replacement therapy).
However, their effects on the breasts can be dramatic. (Check out some of the results our members have experienced here.)
Hormones
Pharmaceutical hormones are much more potent than herbs and are the best choice for transgender women planning a full transition.
If hormones are started early enough, a transgender woman can totally avoid masculine development during puberty.
Beside breast enlargement, hormones lead to:
- Redistribution of body fat
- Thinner body hair
- Thickening of hair on the head
- Softer skin
- Reduced muscle development
- Changes in body odor and sweat production
- Decreased penis size
- Psychological changes.
The downside of hormones is that they are associated with certain health risks and therefore must be administered by a doctor. (Self-prescribed hormones are very dangerous; please don’t do this.)
Some of the health risks of transgender HRT include:
- Nausea and vomiting
- Mood swings
- Depression
- Weight gain
- Hypothyroidism
- Risk of blood clots/deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
- Increased potential for gall bladder disease
- Increased potential for liver/breast cancer
So which breast enhancement method is best for YOU? It all depends on your goals and where you fall in the feminine spectrum.
Transgender women who are planning a full transition should seek traditional hormone therapy under a doctor’s care.
Herbs are an appropriate alternative for those who are not planning a full transition or who don’t want to use synthetic hormones.

Hi just want to grow my breasts I’m 40yrs old and acrossdresser who whants to feel femme
i am 40 years old male and want to grow my fully female breast. suggest what can i do. i am taking estradiol premarin tablets last one month. my female name is payal chaudhary lives in delhi.
payalchaudhary71@yahoo.com this is my email id
seen your photo and I also interested, kindly send me full details
the medicine used by you.
I took a wide variety of phytoestrogens, including pueraria mirifica for over 6 months and saw ZERO change.
The issue with phytoestrogens is that they’re not human bioidentical and are weak estrogens at best. If they were effective, the FDA would have stepped in long ago and put a halt to selling them as breast enhancements.
I gave up on them after realizing that phytoestrogens were useless and began seeing a psychologist who recommended me for HRT at a reputable doctor. I saw real change within a couple of months, including the beginning of breast development and change in libido. Within 6 months, I began noticing that body hair was diminishing on its own. I’ve been on HRT for 33 months now and have had significant changes in breast development, skin softness and I’ve lost all of my body hair except for the places where women usually have it. It’s much lighter and finer in places where hair remains.
Facial hair grows slower, but is still there (HRT won’t get rid of a beard), I had 6 treatments with laser and am on year number 2 of electrology.
It’s FAR, FAR cheaper doing HRT the right way. I pay $37 a month for my spironolactone, estradiol and finasteride treatments than I was paying for phytoestrogens and am having my levels checked on a regular basis by a doctor.
I don’t expect this post to survive, since the owner of the site is probably profiting from the sale of phytoestrogens. But if they are, they should be ashamed of exploiting our fears and selling products that won’t have the desired effect for the people taking them. If they’re not, they should be informing people about the dangers of phytoestrogens vs bioidentical estrogens.
I will eventually become a male to female transsexual but not ready for full hrt yet. I want some feminine features without hormones what herbs can I take for softer skin and small breast growth
I have taken femglow and profem drops but only in moderation over three years so have not noticed or felt any changes
I had been on a mtf hormone regimen for many years and then had to quit taking them. A couple years later I had a prostate problem and was given finasteride and started taking estrogen again. The amount of new breast growth has been surprising. I was also using a small amount of estrogen gel and progesterone cream twice a day on my breasts and nipples. The nipple growth was shocking. So much so that I stopped using the gel and cream. At the time I stopped my nipples were an inch long when erect and about as big around as my little finger. They’re still big, but not nearly as big as they were. But my breasts are still growing on the estrogen and I hope they’ll continue to grow.
